AGARTALA, September 3 (TIWN): Keeping eye on the ensuing student council election, the stage is set for the establishment of a new look, revamped and more democratic student council (SC) in all the colleges of the state.
The Student Council election will hold on September 16.
The election process with filing of nominations and other formalities has begun from Thursday and will continue till September 4. Besides, the submission date of the nomination form is on September 7 and 8.
The various departments and faculties are preparing the lists of enrolled students who would cast their votes to select their representatives for the final phase of elections.
Students of the colleges of the state like MBB College, Ramthakur, BBMC and colleges of the other parts of the state are enthusiastic about the election.
However, it is expected that the election is going to be a fair and democratic election process in which all students of the colleges would be given an opportunity to select their representatives.
Apart from the involvement of students in the election process to make it more democratic, the strict criteria for selection of candidates for the posts has been also laid.
However, after the scrutiny of the list, the filing of nominations has begun from Thursday. Besides, the submission will begin fromSeptember 7 and continue till September 8.
While, the student council election fervour is in the air, the colleges had to witness violence and clash over the difference of opinion among the students.
