AGARTALA, August 31(TIWN): Power Minister Manik Dey on Monday visited the construction site of Tripura Power Generation Limited (TPGL) which has been formed recently as per the direction of Central Power Act, 2003.
During his visit in the site, Power Minister Manik Dey claimed that within next one year the construction will be completed and the work will began in full swing.
He also said that a total of Rs.20 crore is spent for the construction and there is also space of underground parking lot for 54 vehicles.
As per the direction of Central Power Act, 2003, the TPGL is formed with the view of getting all the existing power plants run smoothly.
According to the official report, the Tripura Power Generation Limited has been just formed. Therefore, the infrastructure is not yet fully constructed.
Minister Manik Dey further informed that the state government is also receiving power from at least 8 power plants of other northeastern states including Loktak (NHPC) plant, Khangdong, Kipling-1, Kipling-2, Doyang, Ranganodi and another Kathalguri (NEEPCO). The state is receiving on an average of 40 to 60 MW of power from all the plants in other NE states.
Besides, Minister also said that the state government had recently formed Tripura Power Generation Limited (TPGL) as per the direction of Central Power Act, 2003. The TPGL was formed in view of getting all the existing power plants run smooth.
At present S K Dubey is the advisor of the state owned TPGL Company whereas other 9 officers from Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) were being inducted in the company comprising of 3 senior managers. He also said that the company was just formed and all the ongoing works of the infrastructures would be completed soon.
