Students of Ramkrishna College demands for TU Campus

KAILASHAHAR, August 25 (TIWN): Students of Ramkrishna College on Tuesday staged road blockade at the Netaji Corner of Kailashahar, demanding to open a campus of Tripura University at the concern college.

With the commence of the Tripura University campus at the college, the students of the area can easily access the higher education which includes various Masters courses, said a student.

The students from far-flung can easily access to the higher education which they lapse due to the long distance which they had to cover to reach Tripura University or else they had to stay on rent which is not possible for some.  

The blockade started at around 12 pm in the afternoon and continued till 1:30 pm in the afternoon.

Around 300 students of the college have participated at the road blockade.

However, the students withdraw their protest after Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ajit Sukla Das assured them that he would put up the proposal to the before the Chief Secretary Jaspal Singh when he will arrive for a meeting with District Magistrate Mrinal Kanti Nath.

The students than placed a memorandum to District Magistrate Mirinal Kanti Nath through Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ajit Sukla Das.

However, the students said that the demand should be fulfilled within seven days and if not than they will be bound to go for mass protest.
