AGARTALA, August 11 (TIWN): Speaking at the second day of the three long Monsoon session of the Tripura Assembly on Monday, Revenue Minister Badal Choudhury said that altogether 9031 families were allotted with 1117.09 Acre of land in the 2013-14 and 2014-15 financial year, said an official here on Tuesday.
Minister Choudhury informed that an initiative has been taken to allot land to every landless and houseless families in the coming 2-year.
During the 2013-14 and 2014-15 financial year of June, a total of 379 landless families were provided with 28.46 acre of land and 4309 houseless families were provided with 679.87 acre of land. Besides, 4344 families who do not have both land and house were allotted with 408.48 acre of land, said Choudhury.
Choudhury further enlighten that the state government has been allotting land to BPL families which includes houseless and landless people.
Addressing at the assembly, he said that currently programmes for allotment of land to the BPL families who are deprived from house and land are going on as per the decision of the State Government.
The work process is going on to provide 3Ganda of Land in the village area each and 2Ganda of land in the urban areas including tribal areas each families of BPL.
To point out the houseless and landless families, according to the decision of the state Revenue Department a Tohoshil Level Allotment committee has been formed for every Tohoshil centre.
