AGARTALA, June 13 (TIWN): After opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman demanded for CBI probe on illegal college admission business that has been rampant here in the Tripura, State Higher education Department after around four years has taken the pain to circulate a press note for informing the newly pass out class 10 and 12 students and their guardians, not to enroll their children’s blindly in the private institutions of different states, which are campaigned and promoted through the “Education-Fair” in the state.

The note circulated by the State higher education department mainly aims at informing parents and the children’s, that without taking proper information regarding the colleges and private institutions  they should not enroll their children’s in these colleges as they mostly turn out to be fake in the long run. It is being enhanced in the notice to clarify few things before taking admission, whether the colleges have facility of proper infrastructure, library, hostel, class-room, canteen, adequate number of faculty and most importantly it should be scrutinized that is the college affiliated to genuine university or not.

Reportedly, with the rise in illegal business in the name of admitting students in ‘C’ category colleges across the state by a section of brokers and agents has become rampant in Tripura whereas the State Govt. here has been playing negligent role.

It is alleged by the opposition party that some brokers and fraud agents are engaged to fraudulent activities where thousands of Tripura’s students are victimized. It is seen that since last four years, with the help of the brokers and fraud agents of some institutes in different other states, the ‘C’ category colleges and professional institutions manages to play fraud with the students in the name of getting them admission in those colleges in return of hefty amount.

Every year ample brokers and fraud agents get engaged to enroll students in private or non-existent colleges, manages to take students from Tripura in exchange of hefty amount in the name of getting them admission, but, in reality  it was found that those colleges are of ‘C’ category and they are non-affiliated colleges. They don’t get any affiliation from the universities and by bluffing with bundle of lies they trap the students from Tripura and harass them.

Allegedly, the state govt. here has no report of it and neither had it done any registration of the colleges so far, as a result the students of Tripura are getting victimized in the hand of fraud brokers and agents.

However, the brokers and agents who come here in the state every year to admit students in abroad colleges in the name of “A” category college mainly targets the rural students but very few students from the city, as a result their unsecure futures stops at one point of time.

Most of the colleges were found having no affiliation or either their affiliation has been cancelled and the newly admitted students get deprived at large and their aim for education comes to an end.

For  last around four years, students are falling into the trap of this Education Fair for perusing higher studies and their lives are spoiled abruptly and are deprived in large at those ‘C’ category colleges, as the colleges do not have minimum accommodations and infrastructures for the students.

Every year after the fraud agents and brokers come here to take students in return of hefty amount from the guardians, and the state govt. here plays a negligence role in regard of its registration in Govt.’s file.
