KHOWAI, June 13 (TIWN): Health and Family welfare department Minister Badal Chowdhury addressing the workshop on Health and Family welfare at Khowai town hall on Friday stated that, any common person can file a written complaint against the doctors if the doctors are found attending their private chambers during the hospital hours.
The workshop was organized with the initiative of Khowai Health and welfare society with officials from all the governmental departments and also with the officials from the health department.
Khowai DM N.Darlong, Chief Whip Samir Deb Sarkar, MLA Padda Debbarma, MLA Gouri Das, MLA Manindra Das, Panchayat Pradhan, BDO, doctors and staffs from district hospital, Gramin hospital, PHC along with Khowai district CMO and other dignitaries remained present in the programme.
Addressing the workshop Teliamura SDM Bimbhishar Bhattacharjee stated that the development of the Teliamura Sub-divisional hospital is necessary as the infrastructure of the hospital is in critical condition. The dignitaries also said to resume regular treatment by the doctors in the hospital and to modify the x-ray machine in the hospital to improve the facility of the hospital.
MLA Padda debbarma addressing the workshop said that it is important to increase the number of beds in the Amarpur PHC as it has become critical to provide beds to the patients in the hospital during any emergency. Further in the workshop it was also decided to renovate the building of the hospitals and the PHC to provide better health facilities for the people of the area.
As the area is hit with the serious debacle of Malaria, Japanese Encephalitis, diarrhea, and many other water borne diseases, the workshop is aimed at looking forward towards the development of the health care facilities of the hospitals and PHC to provide prompt treatment for the recovery of the patients.
Speaking at the workshop Minister Badal Chowdhury stressed on the issue that if any doctors remain absent in the hospital during their duty hours and if he or she is found attending patients’ at the private chambers the common civilians can file a written complaint against the doctors.
