AGARTALA, June 13 (TIWN): State’s capital city has observed “Rabindra-Najrul-Sandhya” on Friday, reminding two poets Tagore and Najrul, who had given a new life into Bengali literature and tried to link people with the connections of brotherhood and humanity.

This programme was held in Rabindra Bhawan’s room No. 2 at 6 pm and the whole programme was organized by ICA Cultural Dept. ICA Minister Bhanulal Saha, along with ICA secretary Santunu Das, ICA Director Santunu Debbarma shared the dais on the occasion. ICA Minister Bhanulal Saha inaugurated the programme.

In his speech Bhanulal Saha said, “The cultivation of literature, following the guidelines of these two poets is still helpful to diminish the narrow mindedness of religion and various traditional believes, which are threat to the modern world and often leads to various clashes.” He also mentioned about the various reasons which are obstacles for Indian society to get progress. The fear of religion and cultural narrow-mindedness are pushing the society to remain undeveloped, Saha added.

Criticising few political leaders since 1947, Saha also said, “After independence a young leader wanted to develop India. However, it is a controversial topic to discuss how much India has been developed. Indians are misguided by few petty religious beliefs where it has been said that Nepal’s earthquake was responsible due to Rahul Gandhi’s eating of beef.”

So in this unbalanced society Najrul and Tagore are such ideals to be followed, who can restrain the society from the practice of religious dogmatism, which results out as clashes and wars, said Saha. The programme was followed by various dances, songs and drama presentation. The main message through   out the whole programme was given to reinforce humanity and love, and to make a better society.
