AGARTALA, June 12 (TIWN): The Bangladeshi national Bilal Miah (26), a resident of Kandirpar, Comilla district of Bangladesh, has been sent to seven day’s police remand recently for interrogation. He was arrested from Agartala airport on June 9 while he was preparing to board on Kolkata bound flight from Agartala.

Police recovered fake Indian passport from him which he procured to flee away from Agartala. Reportedly he arrived from Bangladesh here in Tripura and has been residing at Udaipur since past 5 months.

Police suspected him to be from Islamic State (IS) of Bangladesh and has recovered Indian PAN card, fake passport and other Indian documents from him. Interestingly police also recovered one cell phone memory card from detained Bella Miah containing photograph in which he was shown as a member of dreaded terror group- IS, one PRTC issued by SDM, Sadar and a copy of ROR were also found from him.

However talking to TIWN on Friday, police actively engaged to the interrogation of the detained IS suspect, said that the investigation agency is keeping a strict eye on Bellal Miah as he had admitted to be from Bangladesh and had managed Indian documents like passport, ATM of IDBI Bank, PAN card, Permanent Resident Certificate and a mobile set having a Reliance SIM.

Police also said, “We are interrogating him and eyeing on some confidential documents, which cannot be disclosed now.” He also said that after the interrogation, police will come to know the real entity of his arrival here and the reason behind his moving to Kolkata.

However but it would to be wise enough to mention here that all the Indian documents which were seized from the detained IS suspect, were found signed by SDM (sadar), therefore a section of officials of different sub-divisional magistrate offices and district magistrate offices in Tripura are allegedly involved in running the passport racket in the state for past few years.

Police had also arrested Bellal Miah’s co-traveler, a resident of Bishalgarh sub-division of West Tripura from the airport. He had managed all fake Indian documents for him and was accompanying him to Kolkata and also issued Indian passport for him, police said.
