AGARTALA, June 12 (TIWN): After a year-long persuasion with the Centre, for handing the financial corruption cases in various governmental departments here in Left ruled Tripura; and to hold special audit on rural development schemes, the opposition Congress on Friday has already left for New Delhi to hold ‘dharna’. The congress leaders will meet the President of India Pranab Mukharjee on June 16 prior to stage a ‘dharna’ on June 17, at Delhi Jantar Mantar ground, with at least 200 congress workers and will voice against rampant corruption in Tripura and as well as against NBFCs fraud business in the state.

Talking to TIWN on Thursday opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman said that some of the congress leaders along with the CLP leader Sudip Roy Barman have already left for New Delhi on Thursday at around 11:00 AM, whereas another section of leaders along with the Congress MLAs and others will leave the state for Delhi on June 14.

He said that the agitation programme will be followed by a deputation to President Pranab Mukherjee, seeking his intervention into the large scale of ‘misuse of public funds’ in the Left ruled state here. The Congress delegation would meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Vice-President Rahul Gandhi before they   meet President Mukherjee and start the demonstration at Jantar Mantar, Barman said.

However but no time left for the ruling CPI-M and its Left front Govt. here in Tripura, which is to bring nightmares very soon, as the congress prepares to reach every loopholes of the Left front Govt. after a year-long of persuasion with the Centre, for handing the financial corruption cases in various government departments to CBI.

Barman blaming the Central Govt. earlier said, “The central govt. intentionally with a political motive is trying to curtain the ponzi scam of Tripura.” Adding to that Barman also claimed that the central govt. has owned a strategy of “Pick & Choose”.

He said, inspite of providing bundles of letter and documents relevant to fraudulent activities of the NBFCs here, the Central Govt. has not yet responded to it and has not taken any necessary step by issuing CBI probe in to the scam of Tripura.

Barman said, Sarkar and his ministers have encouraged the poor people of the state to invest in ponzi schemes of Rose Valley, whose chairman Gautam Kundu is in custody for alleged money laundering.

Sarkar, a Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) politburo member, had earlier denied his government's involvement in the Rose Valley group, before Burman published photographs of the Marxist leader attending an event of the company.

However but it is worthy to be mentioned here that, the Opposition Congress leaving no stone unturned and despite a serious debacle in the recently concluded general elections in the Tribal Council, yet again all set to push the Central govt. for a CBI probe into the scam. This would however bring no respite for the ruling CPI-M now, as its Left front govt. would soon can have a nightmare dream of the chit fund scam.

"The clean image of Manik Sarkar's administration has now been maligned in the wake of his and his party's involvement in the multi-crore NBFC scam and relentless misuse of public funds. Now we want to make the central government to realize the agony and sufferings of the people of Tripura," Sinha said.
