Domestic violence stands tall in Tripura

AGARTALA, June 11 (TIWN): Despite on its ambitious plan the Tripura Left front Government has set up Women Police Stations by recruiting thousands of women constables and police, the crime against women has stand rampant at rural Tripura.

A discussion panel on the topic of ‘Domestic Violence’ will be held at Kailashahar Town Hall on June 20. The programme will be organized with the initiatives of Youth Affairs and Sport Department and Kailashahar Municipal Council.

As per the report, the discussion panel will be held with the youths of two blocks of Kailashahar Sub-Division and Municipal Council. It has been estimated that a total of 550 youths will be joining the panel.

During the programme, together with Domestic violence, the delegates will also discuss on the topic of benefits of Blood Donation, Eye Donation, AIDS and also in few other topics.

To conclude the programme successfully, Municipal Council Chairperson Minoti Bhattacharjee has set-up a working committee and various sub-committees at a preparation meet. During the meet, Chandipur Panchayat Samiti Chairman Modhumoy Malakar, Gournagar Panchayat Samiti Chairman Santi Sinha, Vice-Chairperson of Municipal Council Kantilal Deb and the member of Municipal Council along with others were present.

If governmental departments don't work together on key initiatives to control over the rampant crime over the women the situation may hike.
