AGARTALA, June 4 (TIWN): Keeping eye on the ensuing ‘International Yoga Day’ which will be celebrated on June 21 at Assam Rifle, a total of 100 students are practicing yoga enthusiastically at Vivekananda Auditorium, Umakanta Academy on June 4.
On the occasion of world’s first International Yoga Day all the NCC School and Colleges will be participating at the Assam Rifle. As per report, altogether 4000 cadet will be participating in the programme which will be held on June 4.
The yoga centre has been organised by NCC officer Sushnata Datta Choudhury.
In this programme, Surjyamaninagar School, Charipara Higher Secondary School, Abhoynagar School, Norshingarh Higher Secondary School, Budhjungnagar School and Ranir Bazar School along with others will participate.
The United Nations General Assembly today adopted an India-led resolution declaring June 21 as 'International Day of Yoga'. This comes less than three months after Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the idea.
It was introduced by India's Ambassador to the United Nations Asoke Mukerji and also 175 nations joined as co-sponsors, the highest number ever for any resolution in the 193-member UN General Assembly.
This has been also noticed for the first time that such an initiative has been proposed and implemented by any country in the UN body in less than 90 days.
