KHOWAI, June 3 (TIWN): Resentment spreading among the police officials when distribution of salary delayed, causing untold distress for the police officers of Sadar PS under Khowai District, said sources.
A total of 2 Sub-Divisions come under Superintendent of Police, Khowai District where more than 600 police officers are employed. According to the report, the police officials get their salary between 26th and 1st day of the month.
The responsibility dispatching the salary is under Deputy Sub-Inspector of Police (DSP) Subhas Chandra Debbarma. But the police officials receive the salary late, generally they get it after 7th day of the month under the supervision of DSP Subhas Chandra Debbarma.
Further, sources said that as the DSP Subhas Chandra Debbarma has taken 1 month leave from 30 May and the responsibility was forwarded to DSP Ranjit Kalai. Now, issue has been raised that the list of salary which has been made to be signed by DSP Ranjit Kalai but unfortunately the papers were sealed with the stamp of DSP Subhas Chandra Debbarma due to which the dispatch of the salary got late by some more days.
Resentment spreads when the salary got delayed by some more days. According to the sources report, this time the officials may receive the salary after 10th of this month. Finding the situation difficult DSP Subhas Chandra Debbarma extended his tenure of leave 10 more days.
On the other hand, around Rs. 3 to 4 lakh embezzlement strikes in the Khowai District PS when more than 50 Assistant Sub-Inspectors did not receive the exact size of the shoes which are provided by the department. Similarly, in the women PS the officials do not get the proper size shoes.
