AGARTALA, May 15 (TIWN): Aiming to ensure better power services across the state Power Minister Manik Dey on Friday directed all the concerned officials of the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd. (TSECL) to play active role restricting illegal hook line power services. A review meeting was held on Friday at Agartala Pragna Bhawan taking up the issue of current status of power here at the state.
Minister also directed TSECL Chief Managing Director S K Ray to ensure that all the old and damaged electric meters are replaced with the new one as earliest as possible.
“The total number of hook line users must be dropped to Zero,” Dey directs in a review meeting held on Friday. He also said that after disconnecting the illegal hook-lines, if any user shows interest to get power connection then the concerned officials have to provide connection instantly.
Besides, the minister also asked the officials to replace damage transformers soon. Minister also asked the officials to ensure that the staffs engaged in billing system are checking the meter properly.
In a review meeting at Pragna Bhavan earlier on Monday, the minister directed the concerned officials to ensure that bill is received by every consumer on time and to complete all the undergoing works for extending the electricity lines at earliest.
However, the meeting held on Friday was attended by Minister along with Power secretary S K Rakesh, TSECL CMD S K Ray and other officials of the power department of the state.
