TIWN

KHOWAI, May 8 (TIWN): A total of 2643 MGNREGA workers of Padabill ADC village under Khowai District are not getting their wages for the last two months. The workers on Thursday went to BDO namely Pradip Debbarma and urged him to look into the matter.

A section of workers have alleged that the central government allocated a large amount of fund for the poor NREGA workers but the CPI-M local leaders and REGA masters are plundering huge funds without implementing the works accordingly.

The people of Padabill ADC village raised allegation that according to their knowledge, no one is doing work instead those two persons then who draws the sanctioned amount on their name?

The villagers alleged many times that a section of local MGNREGA authority and CPI-M local leaders deprive the poor villagers in such way.

According to the NREGA workers, the management committee embezzled a huge fund from their payment by depriving the local villagers.

It is mentionable here that the state Tripura is already under the limelight of massive corruptions and scams in MGNREGA fund. And besides, such irregularities in REGAwages under almost every Panchayats of the state are often coming out highlighted where the workers are being deprived at large and often they show a protest in front of the panchayats. But the administration has been playing a role of a silent spectator, with the state govt. leaving no stones unturned.
