 Fishes dying in Amar Sagar Lake: Fishery department officials in deep slumber

UDAIPUR, May 7 (TIWN): Fishes are often dying due to polluted water at Amar Sagar Dighi. Amar Sagar Dighi relates dates back to King’s reigning period. Amarpur’s traditional pond is Amar Sagar Dighi and is carrying messages to King’s reigning period.

The unfortunate incident was that the water of the Dighi often becoming polluted due to many reasons. The fishery department showing indifferent attitude when the matter was brought before them. The shopkeepers are throwing garbages on the banks of the Amar Sagar Dighi.

Apart from that the local people regularly throws garbage into the Dighi. During, the rainy season waste materials fall into the Dighi, said sources.

As a result locals of Amarpur sub-division are very worried with the supervisions are done. According to sources, Nagar Panchayat and the concern department are showing poor response in tackling the matter.

According to sources, the fishery department officials did not take the death of the fishes seriously. None of the officials of Fishery Department visited Amar Sagar Dighi and tried to find out the real cause of the death of so many fishes.

The cause of death of so many fishes is yet to be found out by the Fishery Department Officials. Till now the fishery department did not took any proper step to solve the issue instead of that the officials are sitting in their office and passing orders to others, the source added.
