AGARTALA, May 3 (TIWN): Even after 17 days’ of the murder of expelled CPI-M leader Jiten Das’ wife Kalpana Das, the police is yet to come to any concrete stand as to who and how the murder was committed. Though the expellede CPI-M leader is claiming himself to be innocent, the police is almost sure of his involvement in the crime. With the recovery of two sharp cutting weapons from a pond adjacent to the expelled CPI-M leaders’ house, the police is expecting a breakthrough into the murder case. The investigating team is eagerly waiting for the forensic report of the two recovered cutters (Bhojalis) and about the ownership of the two recovered cutters. It may be mentioned here that the alleged blue eyed boy of CM Manik Sarkar alongwith his two brothers and one nephew are lodged in the Bishalgar Central Jail and the police is interrogating(?)them to find out the truth behind the case.Different theories were put forward by the expelled CPI-M leader ever since the murder and the shift in the adopted theories gave much suspicion in the minds of the investigating team about his involvement in the murder case.

The police got much headway in the case reportedly but the investigating team’s success appeared halted ever since the CM came back to the state after attending the party congress at Visakhapatnam from April 14 to 19, 2015, raising much eyebrows about the political influence from a faction of the ruling government in the investigation team, claims political analysts here.

A faction of the Manik Sarkar led state Govt. is trying to shield the accused CPI(M) leader Jiten Das as the latter’s involvement in the crime will only embarrass the CPI(M) party in general and the CM in particulr believes a section of the political analysts here.

It may be mentioned here that the brother of murdered Kalpana Das alleged that the deceased had earlier complained to the party leader and minister Manik Dey and CM Manik Sarkar about the illegal involvement of her husband with other women and also about the torture meted out to her by the CPI(M) leader and his family members.

The brother had also alleged that the murder could have been avoided if the CM had taken steps to control his blue eyed boy by warning his blue eyed boy to restrain himself of the illegal activities and torture.

The fate of the investigation into the high profile murder case seems uncertain even after 17 days and only time will say whether the case will also meet the same fate as the other investigatinos like the multicrore rupee MGNREGA scam, the NRHM scam or the culprits will be punished by the law.
