Agartala/ Belonia, February 25 (TIWN): Even with the several initiatives adopted by the state government to deliver a quality healthcare service across the state, the improvement of the health services in the government run hospitals remained miserable till date.

As part of poor health services, several problems including irregularities of doctors’ visit, shortage of doctors, rough behavior of nurses and hospital staffs and inadequate drinking water facility have gripped Belonia sub-divisional hospital for a prolonged period. But the hospital authority manages to skip the problems paying no attention to the patients and patient parties.

According to a diarrhea patient admitted at Belonia hospital, most of the junior doctors and the staffs are ill-mannered, egotistical and apathetic and they handle the patients with a repulsive approach. The patient further alleged that the senior doctors do not visit the hospital regularly.

As a result, patients at Belonia hospital are being deprived of getting proper healthcare services even with the availability of proper infrastructure due to the negligence of hospital authority.

Another patient who was admitted last night alleged that when he searched for a doctor in emergency, no doctor was present in the hospital to attend him.

On the other hand, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), South- Samar Das and Sub Divisional Medical Officer (SDMO), Belonia- Jagadish Nama are reportedly not taking any initiative to ensure proper healthcare services for the patients admitted in the hospital.
