AGARTALA, February 24 (TIWN): Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee under the new congress chief Birajit Singa, has geared up for the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election, with the AICC General Secertary V. Narayanswami arriving here at the state on February 24 to attend a party programme as part of the 125th birth anniversary of fist Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, being observed throughout the country.

Talking to the reporters here on at Agartala Congress Bhawan PCC President Birajit Sinha said that the All India Congress Committee (AICC) General secretary V Narayanswami will arrive here at the state on February 24 to attend the programme to be held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan on the very day, where all the veteran Congress leaders would be felicitated.
Later, Narayanaswamy would address the party gathering at Bishalgarh.  However later on the next day on February 25, Naraynswami will inaugurate a state level leadership programme for the tribals at Old Agartala. At least 350 tribal workers will attend the programme, Sinha said. He said that Narayanswami will also address at least 3000 delegations at a convention to be held at Manughat on February 25, and then he will leave the state on February 26. Adding to that Sinha said, on February 24 a rally will be organized to receive Narayanswami from the Agartala airport and later the programme at Rabindra Bhawan will kick start from 11:33 am.
However on the sideline of  issue with upcoming ADC election, Congress Chief Birajit Sinha said that this time the TTAADC election will carry a tag line – “CPI (M) v/s Congress”. He said, “As CPI (M) here in the state is our main opponent therefore the Pradesh Congress aims defeat the CPI (M) here in the state during the ADC poll”. Asked about the issue of the Pradesh Congress during the ADC election, Sinha said that the ADC election consists of many, “Our demands are mainly included of empowering the TTAADC, releasing fund directly to TTAADC, inclusion of Kokborok language in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution, crime against women, jobs for drop-out children of TTAADC in military and para-military sector, rehabilitation of the ex-militants and make them economically strong to sustain their livelihood and others” Sinha mentioned.  Adding to that Sinha said the indigenous people of the state under the regime of the left front govt. has been deprived at large, with no electricity, no proper drinking water facilities, no basic amenities for daily livelihood has been reached yet at the ADC areas.
Later asked about any alliance with the regional parties, Congress Chief Birajit Sinha said that as of now the Pradesh Congress has not yet decided about any alliance with the regional parties of the state ahead of the ADC election. The ADC elections are scheduled between the last week of April and the first week of May. Lastly, Sinha said that on February 25 some of the congress workers who earlier left the party are expected to join Congress during the party convention at Manughat.
It is to be mentioned here that a section of the leaders of main opposition party of Tripura- Congress are reportedly busy in internal war with no election strategy.
“I am trying to overcome from the undesirable status of the recent Congress party”, said Sinha recently. And this has clearly indicated that the congress might face another setback during the upcoming election here in Tripura. The congress party in Tripura has faced serious downfall in the bygone Lok-Sabha and Assembly elections. "My primary duty is to strengthen the organization at the grassroots level and bring back the Congress leaders who left Congress and joined other parties in past two years. My efforts will be to unite Congress to defeat CPI-M in Tripura," Sinha said earlier talking to TIWN. However, to mention here the time might not come ever for the Pradesh congress here in Tripura, because the so called internal cold war among the congress leaders still prevails here in the state.
