Agartala, February 23 (TIWN): At the time when the state is likely to receive another award by implementing highest mandays on an average of 66 percent in the country, a few prolonged demands of the Tripura Rega Karmachari Sammanaya Samity (TRKSS) are still remained unfulfilled.

Keeping the 13-point charter of demands ahead, an 8-member delegation of TRKSS today submitted a deputation to the Rural Development Minister- Naresh Jamatia and also placed a memorandum at Civil Secretariat. 

Secretary of TRKSS- Joydeep Kar alleged that over 2900 REGA workers are being deprived of getting different facilities including Dare Allowance (DA) and service book. In spite of several requests and protests by the REGA workers for fulfilling the demands, the state government did not adopt any initiative till date, he said.

In the wake of long term deprivation, delegates of Tripura Rega Karmachari Sammanaya Samity today met with the Rural Development Minister Naresh Jamatia and informed about the demands.

After studying the demands, the minister admitted the logicality of the demands and assured them of taking necessary steps to fulfilling the demands soon.

Among the 13-point charter of demands, the main demands of the TRKSS are to regularize the REGA workers, to withdraw to work suspension of the workers, to re-appoint the terminated REGA workers by conducting investigation, to release DA and Service Book for the workers, said Kar.

Vice-presidents of TRKKS- Krishna Debnath, Babul Datta, assistant secretaries- Manoj Debnath, Nimai Dey, Nimai Debnath and organizational secretary Bidhubhusan Debbarma also participated in the deputation.
