AGARTALA, Sep 8 (TIWN): Tight security measures have been imposed on naka-points in Tripura ahead of the village council election, happening after a wait of over 10 years.

Like other checking points, in Amtali naka-points also special checking continues to prevent any suspicious entries. 

Police also check in various vehicles which are coming from other states. 

Amtali PS OC-Rana Chatterjee informed that special focus is being laid in the entry points.

The State Election Commission, Tripura has announced the schedule for the General Election to all Village Committee Constituencies, 2026.

• Polling: 28 September 2026

• Nomination: 1–8 September 2026

• Counting: 5 October 2026
