AGARTALA, Oct 10 (TIWN): The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee organized a public meeting and membership drive at Machmara Bazar in Pabiachhara constituency. The event was attended by prominent leaders, including Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha, MLA Sudip Roy Barman, and former MLA Dibya Chandra Rangkhal. The leaders criticized the ruling party's policies, highlighting issues such as corruption, unemployment, and rising prices. They also targeted local representatives and MLAs, accusing them of nepotism and misusing their power. During the event, 61 people from 21 families joined the Congress party, including Minal Sahaji, a state committee member of the Vaishya Kapali community and president of the Kumarghat subdivision.
The Congress leaders claimed that their party is gaining momentum in the state and that people are losing faith in the ruling government.
