AGARTALA, Oct 11 (TIWN): Tripura police issued a press release saying, a gang rape that was complained and published by media did not happen. However, police's statement did not confirm any medical test report yet, even though she was taken to GB hospital. Police also said, the complainer said, last night she was consumed alcohol and can not remember when she made the statement. Police's statement was all about the victim's withdrawal but nothing came out about police investigation report or any doctor's comment. The report also did not clarify if any test was done to know her alcohol consumption level.
Also, if there would be any investigation on alcoholic consent rape or not, it's under cloud. In India, sexual activity with an intoxicated person is considered rape because intoxication, due to alcohol or drugs, invalidates consent.
Tripura Gang Rape complainers withdrew complaint. Police Statement.
