Agartala, February 3 (TIWN): Amid huge response from the people of Tripura, CPI-M party has effectively concluded district conferences in seven districts recently for the first time, said CPI-M state secretary- Bijan Dhar over telephone here today.

Among the eight districts, the last district conference of CPI-M will be held at Dhalai district on February 7 to 8 respectively while the district conference was reportedly started from North Tripura district, said Dhar.

In the district conferences, the CPI-M has changed the ad hoc committees by constituting new district committees in West, South, Gomati, Unokoti, Sepahijala, Khowai and North districts respectively and many of the ongoing issues were discussed, added Dhar.

Asked about the success, “Ahead of CPI-M’s state conference, conclusion of 8 district conferences will add additional oxygen to the CPI-M party leaders”, he said.

On the other hand, leaving no stone unturned, the CPI-M’s leaders and workers are gearing up to mark the state conference scheduled to be held from February 25 to 28, respectively, said a party source. The top brass of CPI-M led by Melarmath is all set for the state conference, said the source.

The source further said that the state conference of CPI-M will be started following a mass rally at Vivekananda ground in Agartala on February 25 and the conference would be continued at Town Hall till February 28.

According to the party source, All India general secretary of CPI (M)- Prakash Karat and Politburo member Brinda Karat are likely to arrive in Tripura to attend the mass rally on February 25. Besides, many other CPI-M leaders of West Bengal and Assam would also attend the rally.

In view of party’s downfall in two states- West Bengal and Kerala, the state level conference would inject additional energy to the CPI-M leaders, said the source.

The source further informed that more than 580 delegates are likely to attend the state level conference. The party has already been staged conferences of 6000 branch committees, 244 local committees and 10 divisional committees so far.
