AGARTALA, June 17 (TIWN): As Tripura Panchayat election has been scheduled for July ending, ruling BJP has started preparations for the upcoming local poll.
A meeting with top BJP leaders was held in Agartala BJP headquarters.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Minister Ratan Lal Nath, BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee, MLA Rampada Jamatia, MLA Kalyani Roy were present during the meeting.
Opposition parties in Tripura too started preparations for the Panchayat election.
According state election department’s data, 2650 polling stations will be needed in 35 blocks. The draft voters’ list has already been published and by 24th June, it will be finalized. As per the draft voter list, the voters’ numbers are 12,95,086.
In 35 blocks total seats are 6370, in 35 Panchayat Samiti the seat numbers are 423 seats, and in 8 Jila Parishads total seat numbers are 116.
