AGARTALA, January 24 (TIWN): Unexpected news coming for the employees. Biometric Attendance Register system will likely to be launched soon by Education Department of Tripura in Directorate of Education and various schools. Most probably it will start functioning from the next month. The respective department planned to introduce such an initiative in order to make the employees disciplined and timely punctual. But, inspite of this, question arises about the results as it was already firstly introduced in the Agartala Municipal Corporation. But at AMC,nothing changed and employees continued their lethargic behaviour. According to a highly placed official, the biometric attendance register will probably start functioning from February 1st.
Therefore, from the above mentioned date, the employees need not have to sign in the attendance register. Despite that, after entering the office premises, they have to put their hand on the system and automatically they will be resulted as present. The Bio data and essential particulars of the employees will be earlier registered in the system.
On the other part, Director of Education Department had issued a circular that, from February 1st, the employees have to enter the office within 10.00 A.M and maximum 10.15.
After 10.30 the employees are declared to be absent for the whole day.
This has been probably done to bring the work culture back to the department.
But the question arises about the proper functioning of the system. As in the Agartala Municipal Corporation, it was earlier put into functioning under the tenure of the then CEO Kiran Gitte.
After the completion of the tenure of Gitte, it stops functioning and the earlier work culture again returned to the Corporation.
However, a section of people raised their voices as why it had been introduced only in the education department because the particular work culture is lost in almost every department. The high officials are unable to take proper steps because the employees are under the banner of high level politicians and employees organization.
But now, it is hoped that not full but half part of the work culture will be likely to returned back.
