AGARTALA, June 10 (TIWN): Acting on a tip-off, five Bangladeshi nationals were detained at Dharmanagar railway station from Humsafar Express on Saturday morning while traveling to Bengaluru from Agartala.
The detained Bangladeshi nationals are identified as Rafiqul, Shafiqul Islam, Shahab Ali Sheikh, Mumtaz Akhtar, and Rozina Begum, all of them are residents of Bangladesh. The brokers made them cross the Border in the middle of the night through a place called Amtali in Bangladesh and from there they come to Agartala Railway Station.
The rest were going to Bangalore with the help of Rafiqul in exchange for Rs 20,000 per person. RPF police are investigating the incident.
However, they didn’t see any Border Security Force while they were crossing the border.
