AGARTALA, Oct 21 (TIWN): Amid the ongoing rally of CPI-M, Prime Minister Modi has cancelled his rally which has triggered trolls on social media. CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury while addressing Astabal rally said Narendra Modi has cancelled rally out of flop-rally’s fear.“Today CPI-M’s rally is massive and the BJP knows that after 7 days, its rally will be flopped. Out of fear, Modi is fearing from now”, said Chowdhury. PM Modi was expected to visit on 27th October but suddenly his visit was canceled without giving any further date. After the cancellation, the Chowdhury gave the statement. A massive rally was organized by CPI-M on Friday in Astabal stadium. Thousands of people gathered to support the rally and the crowd overflowed the roads causing heavy traffic jams across Agartala city.

Former CM Manik Sarkar on Friday addressing Astabal rally slammed the BJP for “Dictatorship. Sarkar said, “It was never a culture of Tripura. People had all democratic rights before the BJP came into power in 2018. Today democracy is under severe attacks. Secularism and unity are under threat. Citizens' rights, personal liberty, press freedom, voting rights all have been snatched. People are no more free to enjoy their constitutional rights. We have to restore the democracy and integrity; otherwise Tripura will never be like before. We have to raise our voice for our rights or we can’t get the minimum basics for us. It the time to get united regardless community and religion to end the evil regime”.

Manik Sarkar further said the opposition parties which are protesting against BJP in various forms have full right to decide with whom they will strategically combine for poll but for the sake of unity, integrity and democracy, all non-BJP parties should be united.
