AGARTALA, January 10 (TIWN): The All India Congress Committee (AICC) yesterday announced MLA Birajit Sinha as a new Tripura Pradesh Congress (TPCC) Chief replacing Dibachandra Hrangkhwal. Pradyot Kishore Debbarman has been appointed as working president along with Asish Saha who has been allowed to retain his post. The decision was taken by the AICC yesterday.

Earlier Birajit Sinha has been appointed as the president of faction-ridden Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee.

By appointing Mr. Sinha, the AICC avoided all embarrassment following the court case.

In the new PCC, Mr. Sinha finds along with him the whole lot of dissolved steering committee executives and members.

However the new PCC Chief Birajit Sinha is likely to arrive here in Tripura on January 12.
