KAMALPUR, Jan 9 (TIWN): More than a month after the submission of the DM’s investigation report on Joshitilla tank collapse incident in this sub division. But the police and the Department not initiated any action against the accused contractor and the engineer. Probability of huge transaction is being feared by the commoners.
A source in the DWS Kamalpur division, on the basis of anonymity informed TIWN that, both the police and the higher authority of the Department were bribed by the engineer and the contractor.
Now the matter would not be closed immediately. Rather the departmental officials would write many letters to the top brass in connection with this incident and after staging this official drama for 6 months to 1 year, the case would be gradually dropped. The police would continue same kind of drama and the engineer and the contractors should have to attend the police station after regular intervals. Seriously, the death of jawan failed to affect the State administration which often demands of being humanitarian.
It is to be mentioned that, on 20th October last, a BSF jawan namely Sriramakrishna (35) got seriously injured while bathing near a newly constructed water tank at Joshitilla BSF BOP, in this subdivision. He got injured as the tank suddenly collapsed on him. Then he was taken to Kamalpur BSM Hospital and then airlifted to Kolkata on that very day. In Kolkata he succumbed to his injuries on 25th October. Then the BSF filed a case against the contractor and the engineer. DM of Dhalai conducted two separate investigations on that matter one by the ADM and the other by the SE of DWS. After the completion of investigation, the DM submitted his report to the police for further action on 6th December last. In his report the DM clearly mentioned about the faults of the agency and the negligence of the engineer. But the police yet not initiated any action.
