AGARTALA, March 16 (TIWN): 40th Foundation Day of Tripura Leather Industries Union was celebrated at Melamath Ambedkar Bhavan. This organization was formed on the initiative of then leftist Minister Anil Sarkar.
Ratan Bhowmik, State President of SC Coordination Committee said that after 2018's political change in Tripura, the leather workers were affected mainly. In COVID situation the leather workers went through massive suffering and remained unhelped by the Govt, said Bhowmik.
Bhowmik also criticized the tendency of the Govt to privatize the leather industries.
Along with the former Minister Ratan Bhowmik, Nantu Rabidas State President of Leather Artists Union, Rishi Das State Co-Secretary of Leather Artists Union and others were present at the Melamath Ambedkar Bhavan.
