AGARTALA, Feb 17 (TIWN): Ratan Lal Nath who holds Education Minister’s post generated confusion among the TET qualified candidates by changing his statement, resulting the TET qualified Jobless candidates moving towards an uncertain future.

TET qualified teachers on Thursday organized a press meet and demanded the Govt to increase Posts.

A teacher in the press meet said, “Education Minister, Ratan Lal Nath in 2018 told in a Press Conference that 14,000 Posts remained vacant in teacher recruitment but Govt had no deserved candidates to recruit as D.el.ed, B.ed is needed. Again in another Press meet in 2018 Nath said 12,222 posts remained vacant and as per students' strength-7, 29,877 the ratio of teachers is less”.

The teacher also said, “CM, Biplab Deb in 2019 said around 5,000 Teachers' post remained vacant and accordingly TET relaxation exam was taken in 2019 and total 1,100 TET Qualified candidates were selected, and after selection 3900 Post remained vacant, which means more teachers are needed to fillip the Vacant Posts”.

The main demand of teachers is to increase the Teachers' post and all teachers have to be recruited together. The teachers from 10,323 who have qualified in 2021 TET exam, many were overage after form fill up or will be overage in coming days, and so they must have to be recruited.

The teachers also said those many had completed B.ed or D.el.ed under Govt Scheme by taking loans. Besides, it was sought to know as per RTI report how many posts are still vacant under GT and UGT posts till now, but yet the teachers have received no positive response.
