AGARTALA, Dec 13 (TIWN): Ego-clash continues inside Tripura BJP. The clash is between the Pro-Biplab and Prop-Sudip groups which are however not new but have escalated since Sudip Roy Barman was terminated from the Ministry in 2019. Even though before the Municipal Poll election, Krishna Nagar BJP Party State Headquarter had announced to take a “Strict” action against BJP MLA Sudip Roy Barman for writing a letter to DGP without the party’s permission and declaring before the press that Tripura’s law and order has been rifted but after two weeks of Election is over, no action could be taken against Sudip Roy Barman yet. This has generated heavy resentment in the Krisha Nagar Party headquarter.
Central BJP is not taking risk of suspending Barman from the party, though requests are pending for that.
On November 23, after BJP MLA Sudip Roy Barman called a press meet over the deteriorated law and order situation in the state, BJP Tripura organized a press meet saying action will be taken against the MLA in time.
BJP has slammed the MLA alleging he is engaged in anti-party activity.
“Everyone will see how BJP takes action against such anti-party people. The MLA wrote a letter to the DGP. Did he take permission to write the letter ??”, said a BJP spokesperson.
Trinamool Congress has welcomed Sudip Roy Barman’s statement and called him a responsible leader.
BJP on that day said, “It is said that Trinamool has got a ground due to the irresponsible MLAs Sudip Roy Barman, Asish Saha”.
Tripura Municipal Poll will be conducted on November 25 and the action against Sudip Barman will be taken after that.
At the same, CM Biplab Deb in Municipal Body members’ oath taking day said that for the upcoming Assembly Poll the party might select faces from them too.
However, Barman has remained totally silent on the entire issue and is not inclined to talk to the media regarding his political plans for the future.
