Adaptation of Tripura Schools by CBSE Confirms ‘Failure’ of TBSE to Develop School Infrastructure in Tripura

AGARTALA, Dec 11 (TIWN): Though Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath is consistency trying to convince the people through media that Tripura BJP Govt has “successfully” handed-over Tripura schools to CBSE which could not be done by BJP’s rival CPI-M led Govt for two decades of rule, but it also seals the fact that Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE), a board run by the State Govt has miserably failed in last four years to develop school infrastructure, mitigate teachers’ crisis, giving supports with sufficient teaching aids, staffs and various facilities in schools under the incumbent BJP Govt. This is the same party led Govt which promised before 2018 to have a surplus of Central funding due to the so-called ‘double-engine’ under Modi Govt and BJP run State Govt.

Over hundreds of schools have been privatized in Tripura in the latest move, whereas earlier also similar steps were taken by the State BJP Govt. This will slash the ‘free education for all’ set up which is the constitutional right of the children in the nation.

Although the Education Director has said only a thousand rupees will be collected annually for infrastructure exempting the poor students, what is the guarantee that in the next 5 years, the fees will not increase further?

Privatization move under ‘Vidya Jyoti’ scheme decision has generated resentment in the society and students, teaching job aspirants, as well as the opposition parties, have come forward in protests.
