AGARTALA, Oct 16 (TIWN): Sanjukta Kishan Morcha members have burnt Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah’s effigies in protest against various anti-farmers decisions which were taken under the Modi Govt in the recent years. Addressing media, Sanjukta Kishan Morcha leader Pabitra Kar said, “Yesterday across the nation and mostly in Uttar Pradesh famers held massive protests, although in Tripura we postponed the protest programme due to Durga puja. Both PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are the symbols of anti-farmers figure. That’s why we have burnt their effigies”.
He also said, “We are not allowed to organize programmes but BJP, RSS are continuing their programmes. Due to restrictions we did not protest outside the office but in future the protest will be held followed by massive rallies. Burning Amit Shah and Modi’s effigies are symbols of ending the evil like Ravana”.
