AGARTALA, Oct 9 (TIWN): As per the rituals and religious norms, this year Durga puja Tritiya and Chaturthi have fallen on the same date that is today. Across the state, people have geared up to celebrate Durga puja 2021 which is the greatest annual festival of the state. As per Tritiya, today is Maa Chandraghanta’s Puja & as per Chaturthi Maa Kushmanda Puja will also be worshipped today. The main puja however will start from Shasti evening in puja pandals. Durga puja is celebrated statewide and all community, religions’ people gather together to celebrate this puja, walk in the crowd. For children it’s the biggest festival when for a long time around 15 days schools remain closed.
Durga Puja signifies the birth of Durga with the blessings of gods, as a collective energy, to fight the demon king Mahishasura.
Maha Saptami puja will be performed on Tuesday, Maha Ashtami, Kumari Puja and Sandhi Puja on Wednesday and Maha Nabami Puja on Thursday. On 15th October Durga Dasami will be observed.
