AGARTALA, July 14 (TIWN): Smart City ?? In the name of making smart City, the BJP led Tripura Government has cheated Poor daily wage earner people with fake promises of constructing new flats by evicting them.

Reportedly, the government earlier told 44 families(daily wager, BPL card holder) that they have to evict from their slum area at Kalikapur, Bhagat Singh Lakkhan Das Para, Ward-15  as Govt will construct a flat in the area and they were told those who would stay in the flat they would have to pay Rs 5 lakhs in instalments. Accordingly, the poor daily wage families accepted the decision, left their land and started living in another Govt’s decided area. But suddenly the Government official sent Notice to the poor people that they have to book their flats at Rs 5000 which becomes heavy to arrange such an amount for the daily wage in this covid crisis situation but somehow they arranged the amount and booked their flats. Now Govt officials are demanding that Rs 5 lakhs have to be paid before 27^th July which is impossible to arrange such huge amounts for the BPL card holder families in these few days.

Centering this Poor angry families gheraoed the construction area and said before media they would not remove their dharna until government’s withdraw the given unjustified notice. As the said word by govt officials before their eviction and action after eviction is discrepancy and if the government would not withdraw the notice then the government has to provide an empty plot to the poor people where they will build their house and demand to return their Rs 5000 given amount. The victim's family also said they will meet with the Sadar SDM, now it remains to be seen what the SDM assures them.
