AGARTALA, July 13 (TIWN): In another landmark verdict, Tripura High Court has directed the State Govt to provide Die-In-Harness job to a son who had lost his father in 2018. After almost 2 years of deprivation, petitioner Paristosh Das has now received justice as the High Court has asked Tripura Govt to provide jobs to the son. The writ petition WPC-94/2020 was filed in Tripura High Court challenging the Govt's decision based on Kamalpur SDM's investigation in the matter.

Briefing about the case, Advocate Prashanta Kumar Pal said, "Late Pradip Das worked for 17 years in the Education Dept in DRW post and on 5th July, 2018 he joined as Group-D post and unfortunately on 3rd August, 2018 Pradip Das had died. His son Paritosh Das had appealed for Die-in-Harness job in the Education Dept on 28th January, 2019 but after investigating via Kamalpur SDM, the Education Dept rejected the appeal of Paritosh Das. Challenging the decision of the Education Dept, Paritosh Das appealed in Tripura High Court and on 28th June, 2021 being unsatisfied with the Kamalpur SDM's report asked other bureaucrats to submit a report on this. The fresh reports had varied from the previous report given by the Kamalpur SDM. It was known that Paritosh Das's mother was under ration card with his husband and Paritosh Das's father was also using his son's ration card. All these proves, the families were not living separately. Court has ordered Die-In-Harness job to the petitioner".

Advocate Prashanta Kumar Pal, Advocate Subir Baidya, Advocate Saikat Datta represented the petitioner in the Court.

Reacting over the incident, Advocate Prashanta Kumar Pal has lambasted the bureaucrats who have no connection with the masses and how the poor families use each-other's ration cards they have no idea resulted SDM Kamalpur made this ration card a big issue.

"The officials stay in the AC room but have no idea about the structure of our society and have no connection with the common men", added the Advocate.
