Congress demands Probe in Delta(+) Data Dispute between State and Centre : Asks, 'Whose Data is Correct ?'

AGARTALA, July 12 (TIWN): Tripura Congress has lashed out at the BJP led State Govt over Covid Data variation with the Centre. Addressing a press conference, the Congress has sought proper investigation in this incident and also demanded legal action against the persons who spread fake information with the media. Addressing media, Yuva Congress leader Prasenjit Das said, "Govt of Tripura itself has announced about Delta plus variant's existence in state which turned a matter of concern, but yesterday, Central Govt has denied the statement of Tripura Govt and said that no Delta plus was detected in Tripura. So, what is the truth ? Whose data is correct ? We also want legal action against the person who gave Fake data". 2 days after Tripura Health Dept held a press meet to announce that Delta Plus variant was tested in Tripura, the Central Govt had clarified yesterday night, "No case of Delta Plus reported from sample sequencing in Tripura The samples tested revealed cases of Delta Variant".

 There were some Media reports regarding rising cases of Delta Plus variants in Tripura. In this regard, it is informed that : 

•152 samples were sent from Tripura to NIBMG Kalyani for Whole Genome Sequence(WGS). 

•The random samples were of people tested RT-PCR positive between April and May 2021 

•The results of the WGS done at NIBMG Kalyani reveal- 

1) 3 samples had tested positive for B.1.1.7 

2) 11 samples had tested positive for B.1.617.1(Kappa) 

3) 138 samples had tested positive for B.1.617.2 (Delta) 

There was no case of Delta Plus reported among the aforementioned lot of sequenced samples.
