AGARTALA, June 19 (TIWN): In the Sonapur area of Belonia Barpathari, a domestic animal died due to the negligence of the power department after being electrocuted on Saturday.

It is known that in Arya samaj area after installing electricity poles on the road side, the power department officials temporarily tied the electric pole with cable but the electric pole has been short circuited. As a result, as soon as a cow came in contact with electric wire the cow died of electrocution. Other domestic animals were there but seeing this incident, an on duty BSF Jawan chased away the animals in front of the electricity pole.

Reportedly, transformers along with many old electricity poles on the streets in Belonia city remain in dangerous condition, repeatedly it was informed to the electric department to repair the electricity poles but nothing is being done. Due to the negligence of the Electric department not only the animals but also human beings can also die.

However, Domestic animal owner Bimal Chowdhury said he would file a case against the power department due to the negligence of the concerned department.
