AGARTALA, May 19 (TIWN):Amid massive contributions in Chief Minister's relief fund, Tripura Govt failed to introduce a proper solution for poor people, did not announce any strong economic package which could feed the poor families.

Due to lockdown for deadly Covid-19, a number of daily workers lost their jobs and forced to sit at home. With extreme poverty, the poor families of Ashwin Tripura para had to mortgage their ration cards to money lenders in return for a loan to sustain their families.

Being asked by media, RamKumar Tripura said, "I did not receive any support from the administration and government during this lockdown. I had no option left than mortgaging my ration card to get loan."
He also said that they visit the fair price shop just to give his fingerprint in the bio-metric but the ration is withdrawn by the person who has mortgaged the ration cards and later sold in the market.
Abhijit Sen, a local ration dealer has been named by the locals of being involved in the racket along with some other agents. However, when questioned the accused refused to comment.
