AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, April 9 (TIWN): The Epidemic Diseases Covid19 (Regulation 2020) has tightened in Tripura and Govt has warned media/ social media not to publish any data about COVID19 related case unless it is confirmed by the authorized person.
Addressing media, Minister Ratanlal Nath has confirmed this. He further clarified that no media, social media, even Minister has authority to release such data.
This decision came after fake data, information were circulated in social media, media generating panic in the state Tripura. In Tripura till now only 1 case has been detected positive in COVID-19.
Ratanlal Nath further said, the media which published wrong information on COVID19 on yesterday have said sorry for that. He added, Govt’s aim is not to punish anyone but it is also fact that rumours must be stopped on COVID19 which are generating panic in state.
