AGARTALA, July 24 (TIWN): Member of National Commission for Women Ms Soso Shaiza has visited Tripura, attended meetings and discussed about crime against women.
The member of National Commission for Women has claimed that Northeast states has no dowry deaths, complaints are very less and Men are very good and having positive attitudes towards women.
She also appreciated women’s participation’s rate in the meeting which called at Khumulwng on yesterday.
At a point she mentioned, in compared to the other states, Tripura is almost a heaven on earth. Tripura’s history is rich and it has an educated civil society across and people of Tripura are very very friendly.
Shaiza said, crime against women has to be decreased, women have to be financially independent.
She also praised Tripura CM Biplab Deb for his simplicity and mentioned, people of Tripura are also very simple minded, which has amazed her.
The Commissioner told media that she will be coming again and again in Tripura.
Tripura Women Commission Chairperson Barnali Goswami said that in today’s meeting it was discussed how to make women Financially independent.
