AGARTALA, July 17 (TIWN): A Tree Plantation program (Banana Trees) was organized in the Tripura University campus in the presence of resource persons and participants from across the country as well as abroad as a mark of environment protection. In the program, Por.f V. L. Dharurkar, Vice-Chancellor, Tripura University was present along with Prof. Saburou Saitoh, Institute of Reproducing Kernels, Japan, Prof. M. D. Jahagirdar, Marathwada University, Maharastra, Dr. Ajit Thete, Prof. Rathod Vijaykumar, Karnataka and others. Prof. Dharurkar said under the Horticulture mission one year ago Banana Trees were planted in two clusters which started giving fruits now and it will be benefitted to hostel students and the University community.
The outside participants appreciated the horticulture mission started by Prof. Dharurkar and in the long run, Tripura University will show the path to other University in such initiatives.
