AGARTALA, Dec 10 (TIWN): Agartala Airport Director Krishan Mohan Nehra on Wednesday expressed frustration over the Indigo crisis which started on November 27, causing troubles for Tripura passengers along with the entire country. The Airport Director told the media, “What happened was really bad. It was not expected and we being the Airport team, we tried our best to give comfort to the passengers. But what happened was really unfortunate.”

“Total 39 flights were cancelled only for Agartala Airport causing heavy "inconvenience" to the passengers”, Mishra added.

“We increased the sitting capacity for the passengers and imported extra sanitation for hygiene maintenance. Food stalls were asked to be kept open till the last flight operation and strict instruction was given — no extra price for any food item can be taken during this crisis,” he told the media at MBB Airport.

Mishra, however, praised the Airport authority of India for their dedicated support to ease the crisis situations.

The Airport Director further stated that Agartala Airport authority is ready to welcome more numbers of new flights and there is no lack in the infrastructure in the airport.

He also mentioned that the refunding process for the flight cancellation will start from today.

Mishra informed that a total three Air India flights, one Akasa and eleven IndiGo flights are now operating from Agartala MBB Airport.
