AGARTALA, July 14 (TIWN): Commenting about the nomination withdrawal of CPI-M candidates and violence centering Panchayat Poll, opposition CPI-M on Sunday said that there is no remaining or sign of democracy in Tripura under the BJP Govt.
CPI-M spokesperson Bijan Dhar also has blasted media for not publishing BJP’s violence and always raising fingers on the opposition.
CPI-M alleged, just like September 2018, BJP has bound CPI-M candidates in this Panchayat election to withdraw nominations, which is totally undemocratic. Also the party said that 86% uncontested seat winning of BJP is nothing but proof of ‘farcical election’.
Bijan Dhar heavily criticized CM Biplab Deb for declining to meet CPI-M representatives who wanted to meet CM and request for peaceful election.
CPI-M will stage Dharna on July 18.
Tripura Panchayat election is going to be conducted on July 27.
In 591 villages total Panchayat seat numbers are 6111. Out of those seats, 5728 seats have been won by BJP. Panchayat election will be conducted on 27th July and vote counting will be held on 31stJuly.
In 35 Panchayat Samitis seat numbers are 419. BJP has won uncontested 337 seats.
In Jila Parishad in 37 seats BJP is going to win uncontested out of 116 seats.
