AGARTALA, October 15 (TIWN): Police is playing another fake drama in the name of investigation regarding the multi crore scam of MGNREGA of Bishalgarh RD Block. Police today conducted raids in the houses of the four accused persons related to the multi crore scam. The four accused are Mita Malakar resident of Grandouse area, Nibas Palit resident of Madhya Bahdharghat, Subir Wokil and Kishore Banik resident of Joynagar. A large contingent of police headed by Addl Superintendent of Police, Sipahijala, Sarmistha Chakraborty along with SDPO Arun Kanti Sarkar and Officer-in Charge of Bishalgarh police station Kantilal Baidya carried out raids in all four houses. During this three hour long raids, police seized some documents from all the houses. Interestingly, all police officials chosen for this raid-drama are known as hardcore CPI(M) supporters with close relations with BDO Bimal Chakraborty.

When contacted, the Officer-in Charge of Bishalgarh police station Kantilal Baidya confirmed the raid in all the four houses but couldn't elaborate on seizure list.

"We have conducted the raid in the houses for the interest of impartial investigation into the case and seized some documents. But can’t say if bank pass books of the accused persons were seized, the officer added."

Sources claimed that, during the time of the raid some documents related to the multi crore  scam of MGNREGA of Bishalgarh RD Block was seized by the police but due to high level political pressures, police are trying to hide all the evidences.

It is learnt that Police are now awaiting permission from court to apply Prevention of Corruption Act (PC Act), 1988 on Bishalgarh-scam. Police have sought permission from the court in this regard. Police Officals are still in the process of collecting documents. So far, none of the accused officials has been quizzed by Police on the basis of primary evidence- internal audit report.

However common people in no mood to believe Police and Administration for this delayed actions after 26 days, mostly this drama was forcibly enacted due to the presssure created by Governor Achariya. Otherwise Tripura's "Home Minister" was thinking all along that " who can touch me and my "chelas" ? "

Though a remote possibility, but  people may start believing Govt,  only when Bimal and his supporting Minister from Bisalgargh, scamster officials are arrested under Prevention of Corrption Act.
