AGARTALA, Aug 22 (TIWN): MP Jitendra Chaudhury has condemned the postponing of screening test just few hours ahead of the interview called by Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) which was scheduled to be conducted on Sunday for few Finance Dept’s posts. Jitendra Chaudhury said, “A total anarchy is going on in the state under the BJP-IPFT Govt has hit the job aspirants recently. Ofcourse, a Govt can bring modifications and some correction if necessary but it’s surprisingly TPSC, which is an independent institution is doing arbitrarily. On Sunday there was a test, which was cancelled by TPSC but it didn’t bother to inform the aspirants in advance. Just before few hours the candidates came to know about that their interviews are cancelled which is unacceptable. They came for the interview from far away and after reaching in the exam-centre they were informed through a notice pasted on the gate that interviews have been postponed”.

“On the one side, unemployment issues and on the other side, TPSC is creating further problems. Why is has TPSC cancelled the interview without informing in advance it’s however unknown and how the Govt stayed apathetic on that serious issue, it’s questionable”, Jiten Chaudhury told TIWN.

MP further made it clear that Tripura Public Service Commission is a constitutional body, which is independent and derives the authority from the constitution directly.

TIWN also published news on that issue since TPSC postponed the interviews. Govt’s order should not bring effect on that. But it was seen that since the Govt ordered the cancellation of the recruitment procedure, TPSC is also as if acting according to the Govt notification.

It was added by confusion as  TPSC gave a separate notification  than the Govt order. In Govt order it was said that TPSC-recruitments have been cancelled, but TPSC said, it’s postponed. Biggest question is : Can Govt order TPSC to cancel recruitments ?

Background of TPSC led Controversy on its role : TPSC had postponed an interview with Advt No-11/2017 but it was done just ahead of the screening test which was to be held at Sishu Bihar School in Agartala. No official came but it was disclosed after they came to appear for screening test for “Programmer in the director of Treasuries” & “Senior Technical Assistant” under Finance Dept on Sunday.  TPSC’s decision was parallel to Govt’s decision of cancellation of all existing jobs have triggered the whole controversy, as TPSC is directly empowered with the constitution, much above than Parliamentary body’s order.

MP Jitendra Chaudhuy denied to make any arbitrary comment whether there is any pressure upon TPSC or not, but being asked by TIWN he added ‘may be daal mai kuch kaala hai…’
