AGARTALA, April 12 (TIWN): When BJP led State Govt is talking about 'Quality Education', youths of Tripura are moving rudderless in search of B.Ed degrees even out of the state. Even though few of such organizations are NCTE recognized but it doesn't mean their distance mode of Education will be applicable for states like Tripura, rather than IGNOU and MANNU other Universities can serve to the own state's students only. The teachers who are doing B.Ed degrees, many of them do not know yet, it will be considered as a fake B.Ed degree.
Teachers are given around 20 questions as suggestions and out of them 12 are coming common in the exam and if they miss any semester, at the cost of around Rs. 50 - 60 thousands the semester can be made up. In this situation, many students are diverting in wrong directions, sometimes recommended by institutions as MRS. Question also raises, how Tripura youths are so fool and unable to understand the traps !
Merit Research Society(MRS) came under controversy many times, but surprisingly no govt took proper initiative to check the matter.
There are teachers who completed B.Ed degreea in distance even at 1 year and now joined as teachers after passing in TET. It was done in the last CPI-M govt's era, but for May month session's TET examination many job aspirants are going to face the exam with same distance based B.Ed certificates.
Many times TIWN raised demands for not only re-verification but also for uploading teachers' details in Govt website.
Now there will be court cases, deputations and may be protests regarding this. BJP Govt's Education Dept led by Minister Ratan Lal Nath is also silent on this matter. Recently a group of youths have met the Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath in this regard.
Imp: Universities have to offer B.Ed. for in service teachers in the same state where they exist. Only central universities like MANUU and IGNOU are allowed to offer courses all over India.
