AGARTALA, March 22 (TIWN): Eyeing to make Tripura a tourist hub, Tripura Governor Tathagat Roy has asked the Chief Minister Biplab Deb, Tourism Minister Pranajit Singha Roy for their immediate focus on 4 tourist spots : Unakoti, Jampui Hills, Sepahijala Sanctuary and Pilak
"Suggested to Chief and Tourism Ministers to promote Tripura tourist attractions like Unakoti,Jumpui Hills,Sipahijala and Pilak. Few things generate so much employment as tourism. Upgrading and activation of Kailasahar Airport necessary. Air fare from Kolkata less than Rs 2000", Governor tweeted after the meeting.
Recently, Tripura's newly appointed Tourism Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said, the tourism will be one of the keys for the state's development.
"Centering tourism, not only Tripura's recognition will be increased to outsiders but with more numbers of tourists arriving here, people's earning will also be increased. Many people also can chose their livelihood based on tourism industries", he said.
"Indeed Tripura has enormous potentialities, but under the 25 years of Left Govt tourism industries have almost died", said Roy.
The Minister also mentioned, Tripura Sundari temple in Matabari has remained as the centre of visitors' focus including the Central Ministers. "Special care will also be put on this temple", Pranajit Singha Roy told media.
