AGARTALA, March 12 (TIWN): Within few hours of the brutal murder incident of Manik Bhowmik at Agartala Siddhi Asram, Police have detained two persons under suspects. The arrestees are Khelan Bhowmik, wife of the deceases and her friend Krishna Das. "The arrestees have been detained under Amtali PS. Yesterday after long period she had visited her husband's house on instructions of Krishna. It is suspected that both may have planned the crime. Police will produce them before the court and seek police remand", SP West Abhijit Saptarshi said.
The brutal murder incident which had hit the capital city took place on yesterday evening. Before one day of the incident Tripura DGP calling an important press conference had warned the criminals for not attempting to create turmoil in the state, as strict actions will be taken against the lawbreakers regardless their political identities.
A source said that the Chief Minister also held a meeting with Tripura DGP after the murder incident in the night. However within few hours of the incident police have arrested two persons and they are being produced before the court.
Manik Bhowmik, S/O-Manmohon Bhowmik, was resident of Maitri Palli in Agartala. The victim was working at Nimbark in Agartala and on regular basis he travelled via that route, but was staying away from his wife. Behind his head a major portion was cut with sharp weapon.
In the evening, some local people found his body in pathetic condition at Siddhi Asram. Getting informed police rushed to the spot, soon a huge numbers security were deployed.
One day before the incident DGP A K Sukla had warned the state not to create any tension going further, which can disturb the law and order. "If somebody wants to take the law in hand, s/he will not be pardoned", DGP said on Saturday.
